GLOSSARY

Match rate

Match rate is the percentage of demand requests on a marketplace that successfully find supply and result in a transaction or fulfilled request. It is a direct measure of marketplace liquidity and health. Low match rates indicate insufficient supply, poor search/discovery, or misalignment between what buyers want and what sellers offer.

Usage

Track by category/geography. Critical early signal for marketplaces.

Benchmarks

Good early target 60–75% in core categories; enterprise/bespoke use-cases run lower.

Worked example

Valid requests 5,000; Fulfilled 3,650 → Match rate = 73%.

Common pitfalls

Counting spam/duplicates; not excluding out‑of‑stock; ignoring response SLAs.

How to show in your deck

Deck snippet
